That dog gets around!

Ethan met Sparky the fire dog again today at school. His teacher, Mrs. Kim was nice enough to take some photos of his day for me. Thanks, Mrs. Kim! After school, we met daddy for lunch and then to the car lot to see Grandpa and Grandma. Of course we had to "ride the boat" while we were there as well. I'm sure that now that the boat is there, we'll be doing a lot of sailing! Then it was back home for a bike ride and some outside play. The photos of his day are in the web album. I am not sure on the correct spelling of some of the children's names, but I gave it my best shot!

Giggle,giggle,giggle!

This is a video of Ethan helping Emerson put on her shoes before our bike ride. I just had to capture that sibling love! Ethan wanted to ride over to Grandpa and Grandma's house to see if their grass was cut. Don't ask me why! I asked him if he realized that they weren't there and he said he did, but needed to check out their grass! Get ready for some Moore love, Grandma and Grandpa! I have a feeling that our daily bike rides will be in the direction of Amberdale next week!

Cotton candy, candy apples and lots o' fun!

It's that time of year again...the wonderful Robeson County Fair! We've always been warned about how dangerous it is, but we have never run in to any trouble. We bought Ethan a ride armband so that he could ride as many rides as he wanted. Poor Emerson went from stroller to strolling here and there, but wanted to ride the rides SO bad. Maybe next year! Ethan's favorites were the ones where he could climb up nets and slide down slides, etc. He went in and out of them over and over and would wave to Emerson every time he went by the window. She of course would giggle with delight! Ethan is such a sweet soul. While kids pushed by him and pushed HIM (which I of course was reprimanding all the other kids since their parents were no where to be found!), he would just step aside and let them go first. Oh, it's so hard to be a parent!

Don't go it alone, Drew Boo!

Tonight was poor Drew's turn to be in time out! Emerson decided that she wasn't having any of that, so she plopped her half dressed self down beside him. Not to be outdone as a better friend, Ethan joined them! I told Mandy to keep him in time out until I could find my camera!
I was writing out a list of invites for Ethan's party while Chris was on book duty. I was reading all of the children's names to Chris to make sure I didn't miss anyone. I asked Ethan if I missed anyone and he said, "Yes, Logan and Tyler!" Poor Ryland! He decided that he needed to make a "tation" for Logan and Tyler, so here it is, Amy...I'll mail the real thing to you soon!

Where are you guys???

The kids went missing yesterday...then I heard giggling. Low and behold, they were under our bed. Ethan crawled under there and of course his shadow followed! When I found them and asked what they were doing, he said that they were "looking for Stimpy." She pretty much lived under our bed since we moved in to this house. It was bittersweet seeing them have so much fun, but then still missing our poor Stimp!

PS: Emerson looks like she has an 80's side ponytail, but she doesn't. You just can't see the other ponytail! Just wanted to clear that up. There will be no side ponytails around here!

Happy Harvest!

What a busy weekend we had. We went to my mother's house on Friday for the weekend. Her work was having an open house on Saturday. We thought that Ethan would enjoy going in the fire trucks, bounce houses, meeting Sparky the fire dog, etc. They had hot dogs, cookies, chips, popcorn and lots and lots of freebies. You know we love those! We got all of our family flashlights, pens, notepads, etc., so get ready! You're each getting a grab bag courtesy of Rock Hill, SC Operation Center!

After we left there, we went to John's house for what was unfortunately a short visit. Emerson had not had her morning nap and was a bit cranky. They have had a lot of rain which brought those wonderful fire ants out and she wanted to run everywhere. John and Leda have a beautiful backyard with rolling hills and bamboo everywhere. When they moved there, I told them that it wouldn't be long before his grandchildren were running around back there. It's definitely a kids paradise! Keeping Emerson on their concrete patio proved to be impossible!

We went back to my moms house and dropped Chris and Ethan off. Mom, Emerson and I went to Charlotte for a few hours to shop at a new shopping center that she found. When we got back to her house, Chris and Ethan were building a fire in her fire pit. They had carved a pumpkin, played pirates on RT's boat and built a fire all in a few hours. They had lots of daddy and Ethan time, which Chris really loved.

Sunday morning we set out for Carowinds! They had a Howl-O-Fest from 12-4 pm. The kids could dress up and trick or treat in the Nickelodeon area. I brought Ethan's pj's from Auntie for him to trick or treat in. We told him that he was a ninja, but looking through the pictures, he looks a bit like Hugh Hefner. What do you think? He insisted on NOT wearing his ninja shirt that also came from Japan. They had their pictures taken with some of the characters, most of which we didn't even know! We are PBS kids, Disney and Noggin people, for the most part. Ethan does like Dora and Diego though. Dora performed a show at the theatre, but I heard the attendant tell a child that Diego was not there. I told Ethan that and he was a bit disappointed, but quickly moved on once he saw Dora. As we were leaving the park, Chris spotted Diego at a meet and greet area. Ethan said, "Mom, you didn't think he was here, but HE IS!!" He's getting so big. I also failed to mention that we went on Boots' Balloon Ride which pretty much spun us around and around...and around and around until I thought I would lose it. I did not feel good for the rest of the day. I just cannot handle rides anymore. Shows my age I guess.

Emerson stayed at home with Grammy. They played outside with water and shells. She loves her "Mammy" and Mammy loves being called that!! It was nice for them to bond and for Ethan to have one on one time with us.

I've uploaded tons of picture in the web album along with videos. There is one of Chris and Ethan in the front car of a roller coaster. The video doesn't do it justice, but seeing Chris fly around in that little car was HILARIOUS! I think the other videos are of the kids in the bounce house and one of Emerson in her kimono (is that right, Auntie?). Amy got those outfits when she went to Japan last month. :)

PS: I don't know why it's spacing these last few paragraphs like this and I'm really annoyed by it!!

Mom's a super cookie maker...a chocolate chip cookie baker!

Okay, so I'm sure no one except my immediate family knows that that quote is from "Home Sweet Tree" which is a Berenstain Bears book. Ethan and I baked cookies last week, but I haven't had time to post the pictures. Emerson woke up in the middle of us baking our second round and wanted to climb the step ladder. The cookies don't look very good, but they actually were! I need to look for a manly apron for Ethan because he really enjoys "helping" in the kitchen.
