Superheroes!

On the rare occasion that I actually get to take a bath, I was interrupted by my little superheroes! Ethan decided that Emerson needed to be Batgirl tonight. He even put a bow in her hair (in the back of her head)! The other pictures are of Ethan and Emerson with Grandma and Grandpa. They had some great bonding time with their grandparents, which Ethan really enjoyed. I don't think little Emerson can do ANY wrong in Grandpa's eyes. She has him completely wrapped around her fingers!

:(

Well, our fears were confirmed today, Emerson is allergic to dairy products and eggs. I took her to an allergy specialist this afternoon. She has broken out in hives each time we have given her ice cream, cow's milk, cheese, etc. She doesn't seem to have trouble breathing with it, but the hives could definitely worsen OR get better. The doctor does not want me to attempt giving her any dairy products without being in a controlled environment. Please pray for our baby girl. I would hate for her to go through life with this. Some children grow out of it and I know with prayer, Emerson will!

Back to School!

Ethan started his first day back to school yesterday. It's the same program that he was in last year except of course it's the 3 year old class. Four out of seven children from last years class are together. That should make the transition easier I hope. He cried when I left him, but stopped almost as soon as I walked out. Anna is in there, so I'm sure he wanted to look studly in front of her! The other pictures in the web album are the rest of our vacation pictures.

Where dreams come true...

We're back from Disney! We left last Sunday (with Heath, Mandy and Drew) for Orlando and Tropical Storm Fay! Yes, she stayed with us the ENTIRE week. Every single day, it rained. We made the best of it and trucked on. Here is a breakdown of our week.

Sunday - Travel to Orlando. Dinner at Denny's and grocery shopping.

Monday - Magic Kingdom. The kids were amazed at all of the stuff. Ethan got to meet Donald, Goofy and Pluto. We did not have enough time there at all. There is so much to do. It was fun seeing the things that I saw when I was a child. Of course there were tons of new stuff. It was nice riding on "It's a Small World," etc. Emerson even liked that ride! Ethan enjoyed "Peter Pan," but surprisingly wasn't thrilled with "Pirates of the Caribbean." He said it was, "Creepy." We stayed until closing, but the kids were asleep before we hit the tram.

Tuesday - Downtown Disney. We thought this would be our last day with Fay. Wrong. We were going to go to Disney Quest which is a multi level arcade, basically, but it was packed. We walked around a little bit, but there wasn't much we could do with all the wind and rain.

Wednesday - Epcot. This place was actually fun. I thought it would be boring and all scientific, but it was really interesting. They had a "Finding Nemo" ride that was really good. You rode around in a clam shell. Ethan really liked it. Then you could look around at the aquarium and Mickey was scuba diving. The boys really loved that! Emerson was just happy to be walking around and out of her stroller!

Thursday - Sea World. Loved it! Of course it was raining (the worst of it, actually), but we got to watch some shows. Some of the rides were closed, but we were able to ride a few. Shamu was amazing. How old is that whale now anyway...? I saw Shamu when I was little. ;) Emerson kept talking to all the fish and Shamu. I tried to get it on video.

Friday - Animal Kingdom. Probably my favorite place along with Magic Kingdom. Very neat safari ride and 3D bug show. Ethan, Chris and I all rode on the typhoon lagoon which is a water ride. We were completely soaked. We rode it twice! We had breakfast with, Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Pluto at Tusker House Restaurant. That was definitely worth it. The boys loved it, but Emerson was not happy with the characters in her face!

Saturday - Water Park at our condo, Downtown Disney and Pirates Dinner Adventure. This was our first semi-nice day, so we took the kids to the water park on site. They had a blast, but it was a bit chilly for my liking. After that we went to the Rainforest Cafe for lunch. Very expensive, but worth going to at least once. The atmosphere was amazing. We let Ethan ride a few of the rides there at Downtown Disney until it starting raining...again. We had reservations for Pirates Dinner Adventure, which was not good at all. I really don't have anything good to say about that place. I left feeling dirty. Ethan liked it somewhat. He didn't act enthused in my opinion.

Sunday - Drove home. We got home around 7:30 pm. Gave the kids a bath and had water leaking out of the tub faucet. I don't know what happened next, but Chris tried to fix it and water went everywhere. We now have a mess on our hands, but we're home!!
There are TONS of pictures in the web album. 186 to be exact with two videos. I have a few more to add to this once I post again.

FINALLY!

Sorry this took so long to post. I'm having trouble with my Picasa because Chris had to take our old computer to work and it had all of my old pictures on it. He loaded them back on to our laptop and even though I deleted them out of Picasa, it still says I have run out of space in there. Anyway, it might be slow go from here until I figure out another way to load pictures.

As you can see, I was unable to upload the video of Emerson waking Ethan up. I'll let you know when I figure out what's going on.

Monkey See, Monkey Do!

I heard Emerson on the monitor this afternoon "talking" to Ethan. He was asleep in his bed, which is beside her crib. He normally sleeps in our bed, which she can still see, but it's not as close. Needless to say, she was very excited. When I took her out, she made a b-line for him. I actually went and got the camera before I took her out because I knew what she was going to do! He wakes her up all the time, although not intentional. He's just a loud talker when he wakes up.

We spent the evening having dinner with Heath and Mandy. Ethan wanted them to come back to our house and thankfully, they did. They were a lot of help in watching the kids while Chris and I moved stuff from the van to my new Tahoe. Yay! It's really nice, but doesn't have nearly the amount of storage as the van. At least I won't look like a dork riding in the van anymore!

PS: All of the pictures in the web album were taken by Ethan.

Camping in luxury!

Okay, so I am certainly not as creative as my sister (as I've said before, I'm sure), but I tried to make Ethan a "tent" yesterday. He LOVED it! He has been asking to camp out in his play set, but it's been 100 degrees here lately, so that's out until it cools down. I draped a fitted sheet on 3 posters of the bed since it wouldn't fit to all 4. Then I draped others hanging off of it. We had to call Chris and have him ring the doorbell when he got home so we could hide...with the flashlight of course!

We also went to the water park yesterday with my friend Rhonda and her grandchildren. They all had a blast although nap time was waaaaayy off. Emerson only napped on the way home (about 30 minutes) when she normally sleeps 3-4 hours a day. Rough day for mommy! No wonder my head hurt so bad last night! Ethan really enjoyed playing with Tre and Lanie.

The other pictures in the web album are at the pool where we are members. I think there's also some pictures of Emerson eating her first peach (she's eaten the diced ones). She ate almost the entire thing! What a mess she was to clean up!

Toddler Talk.

Chris and I took the kids to the pool today. We were just about to leave when Anna and her mom showed up. Of course Ethan was ecstatic since he and Anna absolutely adore each other. For those of you who don't know who Anna is, they were in weekday school together and have since fallen in love. Ethan talks about her all the time and Anna does the same. Ethan acts like a normal three year old with all of his friends and cousins (sometimes doesn't share, etc.), but it's SO different with Anna. He listens to her every word and plays SO well with her, it's amazing. Anyway, here is what we overheard while they were playing in the pool today.
.........................................................................................................................................

Anna: "Ethan, why did you say that you didn't love me anymore when you got back from Hawaii?"

Ethan: "I didn't say that."

Anna: "Yes, you did. Why did you say you didn't love me anymore?"

Ethan: "I didn't say that."

Then Sally, Anna's mom asked Anna if they had a spat on the playground when he got back.

Anna: "No, it was at the kitchen (the play kitchen that they used to wash dishes at daily)."

I asked Ethan if he said it.

Ethan: "I didn't say that I didn't love her, Mommy."

Me: "Do you love her, Ethan?"

Ethan: "Yep."

I cannot begin to tell you how serious this entire conversation was. I wish I had it on video. Anna is the funniest little girl. She asked her mom if she could really be anything when she grew up and her mom told her that she could be anything that she put her mind to. Anna followed with, "I want to be a big man!"
