Explanations

See, Mom, I did let her wear the shirt (that is IF you can see it with the huge smudge on the lens)!

Yes, Emerson is in her bathing suit being pushed around by Ethan and yes, she is in her baby stroller.

Should we have spent $16.99 on a pair of rain boots for Emerson? Absolutely not. It was just too hard to pass up. Oh and by the way, she LOVES shoes!

Let's play catch up!

Another post that is all over the place...Friday afternoon was spent playing with Alex and Caroline. We rode on the golf cart (with Kim and Emerson on my adult tricycle and no Kim, I did not include that picture!) down to the lake and fed the fish. The kids think they are so big riding on the back without an adult. It still makes me nervous!

Saturday was the Rumba on the Lumber. We walked around for about an hour and bumped in to...Anna! They went down the inflatable slide about 14 times together, even holding hands at one point. God help me! Unfortunately, I forgot my camera at home. Then we went over to Exploration Station for Drew Boo's 3rd birthday party. The kids had a blast. We decided to head down to Florence and go to Red Bone Alley after the party. By we, I mean, Heath, Mandy, Drew and all of my crew. On our way down, my friend Amanda called to see if we wanted to go to Red Bone! Weird, eh? So, we all ate together with ALL five kids. Phew! Fun night had by all...I think!

Sunday was our usual church day. Emerson did wonderful in the nursery and Ethan is loving his Sunday School class more and more each week. It was also Glenn's birthday, so we went to lunch with them to celebrate. Happy Birthday, Grandpa!

On Monday, my mother-in-law called to invite us to stay at the beach with them. They are down there until Wednesday. I wanted to go, but just new that Chris would say no. Well, as he has been doing a lot lately, he shocked me with a "YES!" We had a good time even though it was a bit chilly. We were able to swim in the indoor pool and hot tub. While Emerson napped, Ethan and Chris built sandcastles. Back to the grind tomorrow!

An official Cubbie!

We have been going to Awanas for three weeks now at Hyde Park. Ethan absolutely loves it. The first few weeks, we didn't really know what was expected of him. For those of you who are not familiar with Awanas, you have to memorize three verses in order to get your book, vest and bag. Once we found out the details, Ethan flew right through those verses and recited them last night with no problem at all. He has got such a good memory. He often asks me about things that happened 18 plus months ago. He amazes me. He wanted to sleep in his vest too!

Chris and I have been attending the Fireproof Your Marriage class while he is in Awanas. We have really enjoyed it. Emerson still hates the nursery. That is such a struggle as a mom. Last night I stayed in there with her for about 15 minutes and then snuck out. They said that she cried a little when she realized I was gone, but then continued to play. I think I'll start doing that with her although she will catch on quickly I am sure!

I've uploaded a few pictures from our lunch n' fun at the Methodist Church. Anna came again yesterday, so of course Ethan was thrilled.

Rainy Sunday

It has been a nasty, rainy day in Lumberton today. We rented a movie for Ethan (yes, that should explain his glazed over look at the camera) and are hopefully getting ready to take a nap. Emerson keeps climbing up on her daddy with her baby to go "nuh night."

Ethan has started a new tradition in our house. Every night after we brush our teeth, we play what is commonly known in our house as "The Tickle Game" as you'll see in this video. I am "The Tickler" and Chris is "The Thrower." I walked away from our "game" the other night and he called after me, "C'mon, Tickler!" Emerson likes to be on the bed with Ethan, but she doesn't really care to participate much.

I know this post is all over the place, but I have pictures from the last few weeks that I want to share. These are of our movie night the other week. Poor Ethan was trying to watch his movie and eat his popcorn in peace. Emerson only wanted to hug him!
