Anna: "Ethan, why did you say that you didn't love me anymore when you got back from Hawaii?"
Ethan: "I didn't say that."
Anna: "Yes, you did. Why did you say you didn't love me anymore?"
Ethan: "I didn't say that."
Then Sally, Anna's mom asked Anna if they had a spat on the playground when he got back.
Anna: "No, it was at the kitchen (the play kitchen that they used to wash dishes at daily)."
I asked Ethan if he said it.
Ethan: "I didn't say that I didn't love her, Mommy."
Me: "Do you love her, Ethan?"
Ethan: "Yep."
I cannot begin to tell you how serious this entire conversation was. I wish I had it on video. Anna is the funniest little girl. She asked her mom if she could really be anything when she grew up and her mom told her that she could be anything that she put her mind to. Anna followed with, "I want to be a big man!"

Toddler Talk.
Chris and I took the kids to the pool today. We were just about to leave when Anna and her mom showed up. Of course Ethan was ecstatic since he and Anna absolutely adore each other. For those of you who don't know who Anna is, they were in weekday school together and have since fallen in love. Ethan talks about her all the time and Anna does the same. Ethan acts like a normal three year old with all of his friends and cousins (sometimes doesn't share, etc.), but it's SO different with Anna. He listens to her every word and plays SO well with her, it's amazing. Anyway, here is what we overheard while they were playing in the pool today.
